Cape Point & Cape of Good Hope
Situated at the south-western tip of Africa, the Table Mountain National Park encompasses the incredibly scenic Table Mountain Chain stretching from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south. The narrow finger of land with its beautiful valleys, bays and beaches is surrounded by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean in the west and the warmer waters of False Bay and has within its boundaries the legendary Cape of Good Hope.
This is the scene of our Cape Point Tour which begins the day with collection from your accommodation in a luxury air conditioned vehicle and offers a full and exciting day out. At Hout Bay you have the option to enjoy a visit to a Seal Colony. View the charismatic Cape Fur Seal on a 30 minute cruise on a glass bottomed boat offering spectacular underwater scenery. Upon leaving Hout Bay you travel along Chapman's Peak Drive; 9km of road cut into the mountain side. With 114 bends in the road you will enjoy spectacular views.
The trip continues towards the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Arrive at the Cape of Good Hope, the Most South Western Tip of the African Continent and appreciate the coastline. Take a stroll up to the Cape Point Lighthouse for an elevated view of False Bay with mountains in the distance. En route to Simon's Town you have the option to stop for lunch at a selected seafront restaurant (for your own account). On the outskirts of Simon's Town, a renowned naval base, is a penguin colony, home to 2000 African Penguins, previously known as the Jackass Penguin. You have the option to meet these special creatures face to face by following a boardwalk through the colony. The day ends with breath taking views on the drive back to Cape Town.
